Jamestown’s Winged Ox Players have announced the audition dates for their spring production of “A Doll’s House, Part 2”, written by Lucas Hnath, on Friday, February 22nd from 6-8pm and Saturday, February 23rd from 11am -2pm. Auditions will be held at St Luke’s Episcopal Church, 410 North Main Street, at the 4th Street entrance, Jamestown. Actors will be asked to perform cold readings from the script.
The play is a sequel to “A Doll’s House,” which was presented by the Players in October 2018. The drama picks up approximately 15 years later. The central character, Nora, returns home with a request for her husband and faces the aftermath of her sudden decision to leave her family.
The play will be directed by the well-known local playwright, actor, and director Richard Olson-Walter, who may be best known for his work on the Winged Ox Player’s original production of “Least Resistance” in 2017.
“We invite all local actors to join us for an opportunity to be part of something different, something challenging and something fun!” says Olson-Walter. “Being a part of “A Doll’s House, Part 2” will give an actor the ability to be part of America’s most produced show in 2018.” says Olson-Walter. “Even more than that, this is theatre stripped bare, with no set, no gap to the audience – just a table, two chairs and a door frame, and a space for four actors to fill. With the added challenge of performing in the round, local performers won’t want to miss the chance to take part in a production where their talent will be seen from every angle.”
The show will run May 3rd & 4th, 10th & 11th at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
