The Warren County Fair, located in Pittsfield Pennsylvania, is a fun-filled historic event, dating some of its earliest attributes back over 50 years. It has grown with time into something memorable for the whole family, and something children will look back on and reminisce with glee.
The Warren County Fair is home to several different attractions, including Midway rides, craft shows, motorsports, Show Ring events, agriculture and 4H, exhibits, cruise-ins, concerts, and more. There are also several ways to contribute time as volunteers, and to grow within your community by applying to be a Fair Queen or by entering your animals into the exhibits. WCF director, Dave Bliss, speaks a bit about what we can expect to see during fair week. “Over the 5 days, weather providing, we can see approximately 60,000 people come through here,” says Bliss. “[And] we have a little bit of everything. Powers and Thomas bring the best thrill rides you can experience, we have commercial vendors selling their wares – from crafts, to T-Shirts, to you name it- and we feature several different non-profit food vendors who provide various kinds of treats and meals.”
There is no denying the work and passion Bliss and his dedicated crew put into making this fair happen. “Most of our 21 directors work 12 months a year putting on this fair, and in April we all move our RVs onto the grounds until about October to organize the fair together, and the comradery between all of the directors has to be my favorite part of getting this fair up and running,” states Bliss.
“Our main focus and mission here at the Warren County Fair is to promote youth and agriculture, and our main reason for being is just that. Everything else is icing on the cake.”
2019 fair dates are between Thursday August 5th, to Saturday August 10th.
