The United Veterans Council of Jamestown president, Mike Russell, is inviting all Jamestown area residents who are currently on active duty of have previously served in the United States Armed Forces to take part in Jamestown’s Memorial Day parade this year. The veterans can march if able or ride on trailers to be provided to accommodate all veterans who want to participate. Veterans are welcome to come in regulation uniform or street clothes, with or without their ribbons, medals and awards. Any veteran’s spouse and children are also welcome to ride. They are encouraged to call 716-485-3647 or 716-450-6768 so The United Veterans can have sufficient seating on the trailers.
On Monday, May 25th the parade will line-up at 9:00 a.mm and step off at 10:00, leading off on 4th St. in Jamestown, proceeding onto Prendergast Ave. and ending at Lakeview Cemetery. Marchers should arrive shortly before 9:00 am to secure parking in the Cherry St. ramp before 4th St. is closed off. Any veteran marching or riding the trailer will have a ride back to the original location.

United Veterans Council will meet each Monday evening until the parade. Please consider attending Monday, May 11th or 18th to get involved. Also, listen to the Saturday morning breakfast club with Dennis Webster on May 9th and 23rd to receive ongoing information about the parade.
