Veterans Day Memorial Dedication

The Veterans of Modern Warfare Chapter 20 of Jamestown and The Falconer American Legion Henry Mosher Post 638 will be holding a dedication ceremony on Veterans Day, Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at 11:00 am. They invite the community and local businesses and organizations to come to Davis Park, across the street from the Falconer Library on Main Street, and be a part of the dedication ceremony to help remember the fallen and honor those that have served and those that are serving.

Several local businesses provided support and donations to make the memorial possible. The Falconer Village Board approved the project in the Spring and everyone just came together to make it happen. Bloomquist Landscaping donated their time and equipment to get the hole dug for the flag pole and Jamestown Macadam (JMI) poured the concrete to get things started. Ahlstrom Schaeffer of Jamestown donated their time and materials to get the wiring and lighting in place. Allied Fire Protection Systems Inc. of Falconer donated the Flag Pole and Jensen Haglund Memorials donated the Memorial Stone and the time in designing it. With everyone in the community coming together to make this happen the local families of Veterans will now have a place to go and remember and honor their loved ones service to this country.

A luncheon will be held at the Falconer American Legion, 132 W Main St, Falconer, following the ceremony.

To finish the design for the Memorial, a flower box and walkway are planned; however, they will need to raise an additional $5,000.00 in order to complete the project. Any donations would be greatly appreciated. Donations can be made to Veterans of Modern Warfare Ch. 20, Attn: President Joe Paladino, 41 Bigelow Ave, Jamestown, NY 14701 or The American Legion Henry Mosher Post 638, Attn: Commander Frank LaMarca, 132 W Main St, Falconer, NY 14733.
