JAMESTOWN – The Fenton History Center’s 8th Annual Old Fashion Day of living history is Saturday, August 11 from 10 AM to 5 PM on the grounds of beautiful Fenton Park.

The Park surrounds the 1863 Fenton Mansion and the historic Hall House next door.  Old time crafters, food vendors and craft vendors are needed to show the skills involved in woodworking, leatherworking, quilting, weaving, handcrafts and more.  The theme this year is the theaters of Jamestown.  The theaters were numerous from the later 1800s up until the 1920s when all but four remained.  The current Reg Lenna Civic Center and Lucille Ball Little Theater are all that remain today.

“We would like to feature vaudeville type performances during the day.   We know dog acts, dancing, magic acts and juggling are part of our stage tradition.  Anyone interested in volunteering their talents can call me at the Fenton History Center,” says Joni Blackman, director.

The festival is free to the public.  Crafters are encouraged to sell their creations. For more information call the Fenton History Center at 664-6256.
