The public is invited to attend a Thanksgiving Murder Mystery Dinner hosted by the Winged Ox Players at Jones Valhalla Restaurant, 306 North Main Street, Jamestown, on Saturday, November 19th at 7pm. Participants will enjoy a three-course meal, beverages, a quiz (with a prize for the winner), and an interactive Murder Mystery Play coordinated by local playwright Richard Olson-Walter.

“The premise of the evening’s program is based on a typical murder mystery box game.” said Olson-Walters, who wrote the script for the event. “It is more of an event than a play. Most of the actors will be pre-cast, but a few audience members will be asked to take roles. There will be interaction with the diners throughout the evening in the form of clues and questions. Audience participation will be encouraged, but not required.”

The cost of a ticket, which will include dinner and the play is $25. Dinner will be prepared by Chef Sean Jones, and his staff. A vegetarian option will be available. Seating will be limited – only 56 tickets will be available for the evening. Tickets can be reserved by calling 716-483-6405.

Proceeds from the event will benefit youth programming at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, specifically the formation of the new “Flying Calf Players”, a theater troupe for children and youth that is being formed at St. Luke’s.

The formation of the new group is intended as a way promote the arts to young people in the church, and the local community. The Flying Calf Players will be supported by the Winged Ox Players, an outreach ministry for St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. Founded as a means to utilize the artistic talents of the parish and the greater community, the Winged Ox Players present plays that deliver a thought-provoking spiritual message while raising funds to support local agencies.
