“TED” is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks online and at conferences around the world. Starting in 1984 the talks were originally centered around the themes of Technology, Entertainment and Design. “On TED.com, we’re building a clearinghouse of free knowledge from the world's most inspired thinkers — and a community of curious souls to engage with ideas and each other, both online and at TEDx events around the world.” TED is owned by a nonprofit, nonpartisan foundation. Our agenda is to make great ideas accessible and spark conversation.” Ellington Farman Library will be showing TED Talk videos centered around a different topic every month. On Thursday March 28th from 6-7pm we will follow the theme of “how literature has changed lives”. A time of light refreshments and group discussion will follow the video. The Ellington Farman Library is located on 760 Thornton Road, Ellington. Come to the TED Talks at the Library and let us help foster a deeper understanding of a topic and spark conversation with you!
