Two free music events celebrating the winter season are planned for December at SUNY Jamestown Community College. Both events are open to the public.

The JCC Rock Ensembles present a high-energy performance at 7 p.m. on Dec. 7 in the Scharmann Theatre on the Jamestown Campus. Directed by Bill Eckstrom, the group will showcase a diverse selection of music in a variety of styles.

At 7 p.m. on Dec. 12, the JCC Concert Choir and Concert Band presents a collection of musical selections in the Scharmann Theatre. The Concert Choir is directed by Julie Costantini and the Concert Band by Chris Wakefield.

“The winter concerts are a festive celebration of music that we look forward to presenting to the community every year,” said Neil Flory coordinator of music and associate professor of music at SUNY JCC. “We’re sure each concert will be an unforgettable experience that showcases our talented students and their passion for music.”

The Winter Concert Series is sponsored by the Society and Human Expression Career Community, the Faculty Student Association, and the Division of Arts, Humanities, and Health Sciences.
