Lawn Mower Poker Run

That’s a Facebook comment posted following last year’s Mayville Lawn Mower Charity Poker Run. Picture this – 240 participants with their lawn mowers, golf carts and tractors ready to drive one mile on the snowmobile trail, stopping five times to get their hand – some are in costume, even the mower, and some bring a trailer so more friends can have fun too. It’s loud, hilarious, and raises funds to benefit local residents of Chautauqua County in their time of need. One of the main charities is the Blue Star Mothers.
Registration begins at 10 AM Saturday, September 7 at the Mayville American Legion, 144 South Erie St. Participants must be 18 years or older. The Run begins at 12 noon. Food is available throughout the event. Schutt’s Saw and Mower has donated a Cub Cadet mower for the raffle. There is also a silent auction and regular auction following the Run. Woods Powersports has donated event t-shirts which are available for purchase at the event.
Participants come from around the country for the fun and the cause. So gas up your ride-on mower and join the crowd!
