One noticeable thing that happens to people as they feel better, they also look better.  What are the things that make people both look and feel better?  Let’s take a look.

To start, we need to avoid processed foods, processed food have chemical preservatives and additives added to them that have been found to not only age people, but also make people gain weight.  Switch to whole foods to get all food with less toxins.

Sugar has been found to deplete collagen, calcium, and magnesium.  Collagen supports the skin and makes us look younger.  Calcium and magnesium are important to strong and healthy bones.  Switch to something like Stevia if you need a sweetener.  Stevia is a healthy alternative that does ruin your skin and deplete your bones.

Water is the missing ingredient in many peoples lives.  If we get dehydrated our skin tends to look dry and saggy.  Coffee doesn’t count for your water intake.  Coffee is a diuretic and depletes our body of water.  Try switching to herbal or infused water with a little fruit.

Collagen nourishes skin, bones and muscle.  Collagen has been found in studies to significantly improve skin moisture, elasticity and skin roughness after 8 weeks of taking it.

Eat more anti-inflammatory foods. Vegetables not only provide us with vitamins and minerals, but they also provide fiber to carry toxins out of our system. Add in more healthy fats like coconut oil, nuts and seeds and spices like tumeric and ginger.  Probiotic foods such as Kefir, Sauerkraut and Kimchi add beneficial organisms in our gut that also reduce inflammation.

Whole food supplements provide the nutrients that has been missing from our diets to help our organs function properly.  Modern foods are depleted of nutrients.  A recent Harvard study estimates that foods have gotten over 30% less nutrients in them over the last 100 years, mainly due to excess pollution in the atmosphere.

So those are the secrets to looking younger and feeling younger.  If you have any questions on this or other health related issues, please come to a workshop or give us a call at 716-665-5015.  Have a great day!
