Rolling Hills Radio will present renowned Nashville songwriter, guitarist, performer Darrell Scott for the opener of Season #10. Four-time Grammy nominee Darrell Scott is one of the most respected songwriters and performers in Americana. His outstanding musicianship has led to collaborations with Robert Plant, Emmylou Harris, Guy Clark, Chris Cornell, Jim Lauderdale, Rascal Flatts, Olivia Newton-John, Hypnotic Clambake, and many more. Songs he wrote have been covered by, among others, the Dixie Chicks (who scored a country hit with his song “Long Time Gone”), Garth Brooks, Brad Paisley, Patty Loveless, and Travis Tritt. Ken Beringer, Executive Director of Entertainment for Buffalo’s Sportsmens Tavern says this about Darrell. “Eight years ago I had the good fortune to bring Darrell Scott to Sportsmen’s Tavern and have been trying to secure him ever since. Darrell is always more than busy, doesn’t tour often, and seldom gets to the north east. The world has many great songwriters and Darrell Scott ranks right up there at the top. If you don’t know Darrell, look him up & thank me Monday Sept. 30th when he performs as part of Rolling Hills. I’ll be in attendance and you should be also.”

Hardley adds, “On this show, not only will we be able to get Darrell’s thoughts on his art and the state of music today, but this guy knows everyone in Americana so interviewing him will not only reveal a lot about songwriting and performing, but maybe he can tell us some stories about the many interesting characters in this genre. Not to mention the great music that he is going to play for us.” Also, September 30 marks the first show of Rolling Hills Radio 10th season. Said Hardley, “This has been an amazing experience all the way through the decade of the 2010’s. Not only did Rolling Hills bring Americana to Jamestown, but Jamestown has welcomed this genre with great enthusiasm. On a national level people in the industry and their fans are familiar with what we do and need little convincing to have them make the trip to our part of the world. For that, we have the community of Jamestown to thank.” All live RHR regular season shows take place at Shawbucks, across from Jamestown’s Ice Arena. Doors open — to all those holding or purchasing tickets — at 5:30pm for the “Rolling Happy Hour.” Food and drink are available until 6:15 at which time audience members take their seats and the house lights dim. Audio and video recording begins promptly at 6:30. The bar reopens for 10 minutes at intermission and then again after the show when the audience and performers are invited to a “Meet and Greet.” There are three options for purchasing tickets; Until the show is sold out, tickets are available at the door the night of each show. If you choose, you can call the Rolling Ticket Hotline at (716) 294-0416. Tickets are also available online at Tickets for the September and February shows are $25.00.
