Rhema Poetry Open Mic at RydersCup Coffee Shop in Lakewood is a spoken word and music series that falls on the 3rd Saturday of every month during the summer months of June, July, and August. They will be finalizing this year’s summer series with a performance from local musician, Mike Brunacini.

Brunacini is a Jamestown native and long-time music lover who considers his music to be a tranquil mix of “melodic retro prog-pop.” Rather than choosing one particular favorite aspect, his driving passion to continue this craft includes the entire process. “My favorite part is everything. Writing the music, arranging it, recording and producing it. I’ve always wanted to write music, ever since I was a toddler.”

His complete list of works is as follows: “Laceless EP,” following the 2012 release of “Allen Park.” “Artificial Individual,” 2014. “Holding On,” 2015. “Cherry Springs,” 2016. Single “Christmas Magic” in 2017. “Faded Photographs I: Sepia Tone” EP, 2018. “Return to Allen Park,” 2018. And fourth full album and latest work, concept album “Dreamstate,” which came out earlier this year.

The open mic will be held on Saturday August 17th from 3pm to 5:30pm. It is free, family- friendly, and will be held at RydersCup Coffee – 28 Chautauqua Ave – in Lakewood.

Brunacini will be performing a fresh batch of brand new and unrecorded pieces. His music is available on YouTube, Spotify, Play Music, Apple Music, and other platforms.
