The interactive movie screening – Sing-A-Long-A Sound of Music – will show Saturday, October 23 at 6 p.m. at Reg Lenna Center for The Arts.
The heartwarming Julie Andrews film, based on the real life story of the Von Trapp Family Singers, will be shown in full-screen Technicolor with lyric subtitles that the audience can sing along to. Audience members are encouraged to dress as their favorite characters from the film.
The event begins with host “Sister” Adam Owens leading the audience through a vocal warm-up and a costume competition. After movie-goers are shown how to use items in a free interactive props bag, they become the stars of the show as they sing along with the movie’s timeless songs by Rodgers & Hammerstein. These include, Do-RE-Mi, My Favourite Things, Edelweiss, So Long Farewell and the title song.
Tickets for the event are $20 for adults and $12 for patrons aged 18 and younger. Seating is general admission.
