The public is cordially invited to this community event on August 25, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Lawson Park in Busti, N.Y. It’s not too far from Jamestown.
There’s something for everyone, including free hot dogs, popcorn, cotton candy, snow cones, corn-on-the-cob, lemonade, and bottled water. Play a game of bocce while listening to Live Bluegrass. You’re encouraged to bring your lawn chairs, to relax and enjoy the music. Come to view displays of the Historical Society’s history and Busti Federated Church’s history, create a craft and visit the Hazeltine Library’s table to receive a free book and a bookmark. Busti Fire Department volunteers will be there with a vehicle to explore.
Sign up at noon to play in the Corn Hole Tournament. Trophies for the 2-person 1st place team will be awarded to the winners. At 1:00 p.m. you’ll have the choice to play in the corn hole tournament or take the short trip on the hayride. Each will last until approximately 2:45 p.m., followed by the presentation of the trophies.
The hayride will make 2 stops: one at The Mill where a tour guide will explain the operations of the mill. The second stop is at Peterson Candies for a special presentation of “How We Make Our Candy,” with opportunity for purchases.
This event is sponsored by Busti Federated Church for you to just have fun.
Plan to meet your friends there and have a fantastic time at this fun event.
See you at Lawson Park!
Take Forest Avenue Extension into the 5-point intersection in Busti. Turn left onto Mill Road and pass the Fire Department on the left. At the fork in the road, take the right side of the fork. The park is about a half mile on the left.
