The Southwestern Central School District is hosting a School Safety Night on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2019, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the high school auditorium and the community is invited to attend.
The district will discuss the proactive, preventative and reactive measures it is taking regarding student safety. Information about the ALICE (alert, lockdown, inform, counter, evacuate) training program, which the district is rolling out, will also be covered, along with other approaches.
There will be an opportunity to ask questions at the conclusion of the presentation, which will be overseen by district Superintendent Maureen Donahue, the entire administrative staff, Safety Committee members as well as local law enforcement representatives.
