JAMESTOWN   — The Prendergast Library Art Gallery will present “All Together,” the artwork of Lakewood resident Casey Brink from Aug. 9 through Sept. 6.

There will be an opening reception from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, to meet Brink and view his work.

“I’m exhibiting works from seven different series completed in the last five years,” Brink said.

The artwork consists of abstracts created with a textured base and textured flowers and landscapes in the media of oil paint on canvas and board and charcoal.

Brink has painted for 15 years and been part of more than 70 solo and group exhibits, including shows for Galactic Systems and the Arts Council for Chautauqua County in 2011 and the 234 Gallery in Buffalo in 2010. This year he will also exhibit at Patterson Library’s Octagon Gallery in Westfield and at Merge of Buffalo.

The artist has received three Chautauqua County grants and an Albright Knox Award of Excellence. He lists his influences as Jeremy Graves, William Waite, Joseph Piccillo, and Kenneth Payne and his favorite artists as Kandinsky, Klee, and Miro.

His work is carried by art dealer Thomas McCabe of Eminent Design of Buffalo. Digital images of his pictures can be viewed at www.brinksart.com.

Brink received his education at Jamestown Community College and Buffalo State College.

Library hours to view “All Together” will be 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
