Jurassic World

Director: Colin Trevorrow
Starring: Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Irrfan Khan, Vincent D’Onofrio, Ty Simpkins, Nick Robinson
Jurassic World is the epitome of blockbuster filmmaking, and is clearly the most impressive venture in the history of the franchise, sorry Stephen Spielberg. The film’s hero is a trainer of velociraptors, the leading lady is absolutely gorgeous, it has retained the elements of comradery reminiscent of the older Jurassic films (which World pays homage to), and most importantly, Jurassic World’s antagonist is an absolute beast! This monster, the Indominis Rex, is basically The Predator of the dinosaur world – Yikes. And, Arnold Schwarzenegger isn’t here to stop him. In this movie you get to watch The Predator feast.

Ted 2

Director: Seth MacFarlane
Starring: Mark Wahlburg, Seth MacFarlane, Amanda Seyfried, Jessica Barth Giovanni Ribisi, Morgan Freeman
Ted 2 is a Family Guy lover’s fantasy. The plot is secondary to its jokes, and more times than not, the jokes are hysterical. It’s as if Seth MacFarlane has now mastered the art of setting up cutaways, without even cutting away! Everything from the opening scene of Ted’s new marriage, a classical over-the-top argument with his new wife Tami-Lynn, while he’s wearing his signature wife-beater shirt; to the jaw-dropping moment where you see Liam Neeson in a grocery store stoically buying a single box of Trix cereal. He had assumed there’d be certain consequences if he (as an adult) chose to buy the cereal, as Trix, are just for kids. There is noticeable star power, shock value, and a lot of in-your-face style comedy; and if you’re fan of Seth MacFarlane, going to see this would be a no-brainer.
