The John W. Tiffany Post 53 Veterans of Foreign Wars meets every third Saturday at Ira Lou Spring Veterans Club at noon. All veterans are welcome to attend these meetings. Recently they had a small ceremony in which they were presented a flag by Peter Carlo. The flag was flown over the nation’s capital building. During the ceremony Peter Carlo read the meaning of our nations flag.
“It is without a doubt that the area needs to know that the Veterans of Foreign Wars, better known as V.F.W. are still very much active and do deserve all the recognition they get,” states Peter Carlo, a Korean War veteran post commander who has donated close to 300 nylon flags to all veteran groups and Chautauqua County schools.
