Peek’n Peak Resort is announcing an official Opening Day for the 2019/20 Winter Season of Friday, December 13! A special First Chair Celebration is planned to commemorate the start of the winter season when the chairlifts open at 9:30am.
Snowmaking Operations have been underway at the Clymer, NY resort since the evening of Friday, November 29. Significant investments to the resort’s snowmaking system have increased the resort’s snowmaking capabilities, producing man-made snow from as many as 110 snow guns at a time. The expert snowmaking team at Peek’n Peak is preparing to battle temperatures approaching 50 degrees and rainy forecasts through a variety of techniques to reduce snow loss.
Guests may visit Peek’n Peak’s website at pknpk.com for up-to-the-moment weather conditions, live webcams, slope conditions and a list of available trails and slopes. Guests are also encouraged to purchase lift tickets through the website for significant savings.
Peek’n Peak’s Snow Tubing Hill will also open on December 13. An incredibly popular nighttime snow tubing experience, Lunar Lights Snow Tubing, will return to the resort for a second winter season. Lunar Lights transforms snow tubing into an immersive display with thousands of multi-colored lights which pulse and fade in sync to music. Lunar Lights Snow Tubing will begin at dusk each evening that the Snow Tubing Hill is open.
Guests may also enjoy the resort’s numerous amenities during Opening Weekend including: the Main Ski Lodge, Bistro 210, Serenity Spa, an indoor pool complex, fitness center and play zone. Overnight packages are available at The Peak Inn or a slope-side condo, with significant savings when purchased through pknk.com.
“We are ecstatic to announce an Opening Day for the 2019/20 Ski & Snowboard Season at Peek’n Peak Resort” said Nick Scott Jr., Vice President and owner of Scott Enterprises, which owns and operates Peek’n Peak Resort. “Our terrific team at The Peak is working around the clock to prepare for Opening Day. We are so excited to welcome our loyal skiers and snowboarders back to the slopes on December 13.”
For those who don’t yet ski or snowboard, Peek’n Peak invites guests to learn a new winter sport through the Peek’n Peak Snow Sports School. The program has created generations of skiers and snowboarders in a program that emphasizes fun and guides guests through five simple steps that build confidence and skill in a forgiving environment. Guests may purchase a learning package for as low as $50 with lesson, rental and beginner-area lift ticket included.
