You are invited to create your own masterpiece at one of Audubon Community Nature Center’s “Socially Distant Paint n’ Sip Art Nights,” on Thursday, July 16, or Thursday, July 23.
From 5:30 to 8 p.m on your choice of these evenings, Audubon Seasonal Naturalist Emily Rechin will provide step-by-step instructions for your acrylic artwork as well as information on the nature subject to be painted.
Each person will be seated at their own table situated six feet apart from other participants. All materials will already be at the table and any hors d’oeuvres or refreshments will be safely served to you at your table. If the weather cooperates, the program may be outdoors to allow for more space and no face coverings.
Local white and red wines will be available to those 21 and up, with non-alcoholic drinks also available.
Rechin has experience painting with all mediums, and her 2019 spring nature painting program was a big hit.
Beginners to advanced artists are welcome.
Participants are asked to wear clothes you do not mind getting paint on and bring a face covering as they will not be provided.
Fee for each program is $40, $30 for Nature Center members, and space is limited.
Paid reservations are required by Monday, July 13, for the July 16 class and Monday, July 20, for the July 23 class. They can be made by calling (716) 569-2345, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday or 12-4 p.m. Saturdays, or going to AudubonCNC.org/Programs and clicking on “Current Schedule.”
Audubon Community Nature Center is located at 1600 Riverside Road, just east of Route 62 between Warren, Pa., and Jamestown, N.Y. While the Nature Center building remains closed to walk-in visitation, visitors are welcome to enjoy the native tree arboretum, gardens, and picnic area, walk the six miles of trails, and view Liberty, Audubon’s non-releasable Bald Eagle, from dawn to dusk daily while practicing safe social distancing measures.
The Blue Heron Gift Shop is also open for drive-thru sales; visit AudubonCNC.org/Shop for more information.
