The combination of beautiful weather and 28 talented artists drew people from over 103 towns and cities this year to the NSAA Art Trail Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends. The signature open studio and artist event weekends brought more visitors to the Chautauqua Lake Erie Art Trail Hub than ever before. We tracked 3200 visitors.
Additionally, there were six times as many passports turned in, with a 25% increase in completed ones. While most people are from Chautauqua County, we had many more visitors from Pennsylvania and Buffalo this year.
North Shore Arts Alliance is pleased to announce passport entry winners for patrons of the Art Trail Hub Crawl that occurred during Memorial Weekend and Labor Day Weekend. As patrons traveled the Art Trail, they received a unique passport stamp for each location. Depending on how many stamps they received, entries were divided into four pools for a drawing.
Entries were blindly selected to receive redeemable certificates with values of $25, $50, $75 or $100. These certificates are redeemable with any artist on the 2023 Art Trail Hub Crawl.
- $25 Gift Certificate winners are Bassam Deeb from Clarence Center, New York and Ted Gates from Buffalo New York
- $50 Gift Certificate winners are Mallory Evans Brown from Randolph, New York and Beth Bentley from Buffalo, New York
- $75 Gift Certificate winners are Saida Arshba from Bemus Point, New York and Diana Pletts from Mayville, New York
- $100 – Gift Certificate are Winnie Wenglewick from Lakewood, Colorado and Cindy Conner from Jamestown, New York
The Chautauqua-Lake Erie Hub Crawl gives North Shore Arts Alliance (NSAA) member artists the opportunity to open their studios to the public, show their work in their own gallery or Hub for two weekends in the year, on the Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends.
This is a driving trail that brings patrons directly to the studios and galleries of many artist members of North Shore Arts Alliance.
Since several artists have working studios that are not accessible to the public, we created “hubs” where patrons can meet multiple artists at one stop. These artists may be under a show canopy on the grounds of a studio or gallery or in shared inside spaces of artists that graciously offer to host a Hub. To encourage patrons that venture out on the trail, this event is free to the public with locations handicapped accessible.
Many tourists as well as many from local communities are drawn specifically to the Art Hub Crawl for its accessibility and unique connection to the artists.
