Jamestown Board of Education member, Nina Karbacka, has been recognized by The New York State School Boards Association’s (NYSSBA) Recognition Program with a Level 4 Board Lifetime Achievement Award. The Recognition Program is designed to acknowledge those school board members who strive to continually expand their governance knowledge and skills.
“We are so thankful to Mrs. Karbacka for her dedication and hard work for Jamestown schools as a member of our Board of Education,” said JPS Superintendent, Dr. Kevin Whitaker. “We are happy to honor her accomplishment of earning a Level 4 Board Lifetime Achievement, the highest level a school board member can achieve. Our Board of Education volunteers countless hours to Jamestown Schools and it is very nice to see Mrs. Karbacka receive this acknowledgement for her dedication.”
Mrs. Karbacka has participated in NYSSBA leadership development opportunities totaling 500 points, to reach a Level 4. NYSSBA’s recognition program is comprised of four achievement levels which are reached by accumulating points for participating in various NYSSBA training activities including state mandated training workshops, board officers’ academy, legal workshops, Convention-related events or custom board retreats.
Mrs. Karbacka will receive recognition in NYSSBA’s On Board newspaper as well as a Certificate for a Free Registration to NYSSBA’s Annual Convention & Education Expo Event. Dr. Whitaker presented Mrs. Karbacka a Certificate of Recognition, Commemorative Plaque and Executive Pen Set in honor of her achievement.
