More about the “Lake Weeds” presentation:
Floating just above and below the water’s surface, many aquatic plants exist within Chautauqua Lake. To a boater’s dismay, many of these “weeds” form thick mats and create a tangled mess within a boat’s propellers. Some of these plants are natural, while many of them were introduced and have been wreaking havoc on both the recreational and environmental aspects of Chautauqua Lake. On June 9th from noon–1pm, join Roger Tory Peterson Institute’s Twan Leenders as he discusses these weeds and highlights the invasive species.
Printed materials (rack cards, species business cards from the National Tory Peterson and other Lake organizations will be available. Come celebrate with us! Chautauqua Marina, www.ChautauquaMarina.com 716 753 3913 104 West Lake Road, Mayville, N. Y. 14757.
