Lucille Ball Little Theatre Announces Auditions for “No Sex Please, We’re British”

Lucille Ball Little Theatre of Jamestown, Inc. announces upcoming auditions for their January production of “No Sex Please, We’re British.”

Todd Pullan, Artistic Director is excited to produce this hilarious comedy farce about a newlywed couple that lives in a second floor flat in the Thames Valley of England. Peter Hunter age range (25-35); the husband is Manager of a sub-branch of the National United Bank. Peter’s wife (25-35) innocently completes a sales order from the Scandinavian Import Company looking to sell crystal to supplement their income. Brian Runnicles (25-35), the chief cashier at the bank brings up the first shipment and others that contain pornographic photos, films, books and eventually Customer Service Agents, Susan and Barbara follow (20-35). These British prostitutes arrive and eventually attempt to entice the bank inspector, Mr. Needham (40-50) who is occupying a spare room of the flat. Eleanor Hunter (50-60), Peter’s mother arrives in all her glory with many suitcases, perpetual flowers and a fancy for Mr. Leslie Bromhead (50-65) who is Peter’s boss and Bank District Manager. Superintendent Paul (50-65) of the local police force and a Deliveryman round off the cast. 

Pullan reports that auditions will be held in the theatre lobby Monday December 3 and Tuesday December 4 from 6:30 – 8:30 pm. Callbacks may follow. Special appointments for additional auditions may be arranged as necessary. Following registration actors will have the opportunity to review a bio of each character and pursue a script for their familiarity. Actors will be asked to demonstrate their potential for theatre performance reading/acting in several characters in combinations. “I’m hoping for a variety of seasoned and new actors,” remarks Pullan. Rehearsals begin immediately with flexibility around the holidays. “I’ve directed in this time slot many times,” says Pullan. “I have to rehearse during holiday weeks or I just don’t have enough time to polish my production towards excellence.” The production open January 18, 2019 and continues January 19 and 20. The show continues January 25, 26 and 27.
