Initially embarking on her holistic journey in Lakewood NY, Linda Campbell felt compelled to bring a more natural type of healing specifically to Jamestown. In February, her and her husband, Scott, opened the doors to their wellness studio, Lotus Healing Center, to the public.
“Linda’s passion and vision is to offer as many holistic services that we can incorporate into this space as possible. Our goal is not to replace western medicine, but to supplement it,” says Scott.
They offer Tai Chi, Barre classes, Reiki healing, infrared saunas, cellular regeneration services, and are beginning to incorporate a children’s self-esteem building group.
Tai Chi is an internal Chinese martial art practiced for both its defense training, certain health benefits, and meditation.
Barre fitness is a hybrid workout class that combines ballet-inspired moves with elements of Pilates, dance, yoga and strength training.
Reiki is a Japanese form of alternative medicine, or holistic healing method, called energy healing, where a “universal energy” is channeled through the therapist into the client. Reiki healing benefits include stress reduction, relaxation, improves sleep and overall immune health.
“We have seen clients with cancer, knee and other joint pain, and even clients with certain phobias benefit and experience healing from Reiki.”
With a passion for holistic health and the overall wellness of those around them, Lisa and Scott are enthusiastically looking to the future with numerous ideas in their heads about how to introduce more natural healing options to the community.
“We were nervous to begin this, but we have been so well received by the city. One of the really cool things is getting to meet different people from different holistic backgrounds that just wanted to see and connect with us, and going forward we may be working with others and adding in nutritional health, massage therapy, and a few other things as well.”
Lotus Wellness Center is located on the corner of 4th and Pine Street, downtown Jamestown.
