Parishioners from Jamestown’s First Covenant, First Presbyterian, Zion Covenant and St. Luke’s Episcopal Churches will gather to sing Traditional Christmas Carols in non-traditional places next Tuesday evening December 15. The group will meet at 7pm at The Pub Restaurant on North Main Street and travel on foot throughout the downtown area stopping at The Cherry Lounge, Forte and Brazil Craft Beer and Wine Lounge.
The ecumenical event has become an annual holiday occurrence downtown, and has grown in numbers since its inception by the Rev. Adam Rohler, Pastor at First Covenant. Local establishments have come to expect the carolers, sometimes even providing a few snacks and refreshments, and patrons often join in as the group makes its way from place to place.
“It is a great way for us to all get together and celebrate the season.” says Rohler, who first organized the activity about four years ago after participating in a similar event at his previous church. “It is always a fun evening and also very nice to spend some time in fellowship with our neighbors, which is one of the things that Christmas is all about.”
The public is invited to join the group at the Pub or any time throughout the evening. The event will conclude at Brazil at approximately 9pm.
