Lincoln Elementary School students and staff collected over 100 jars of peanut butter and jelly to donate to the Boys & Girls Club of Jamestown for snacks. Lincoln Elementary School PTA spearheaded the donation. The PTA has done the PB & J Campaign for a few years.
“We serve snacks in our afterschool program every day, two to three times a day and we are always looking for something to serve our students to eat that will give them energy. This donation by Lincoln School will help us tremendously. It is really wonderful that the students and staff took the time to collect the food for our Club. It is heartwarming to see kids doing something good for other kids and we really appreciate it,” said Jeff Kroon, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Jamestown.
The school understands the importance of giving too.
“We have been really successful with the peanut butter and jelly campaign because it is a really easy and affordable way for students and families to give back,” said Lincoln Elementary School Principal Katie Russo. “It is one of our goals to show students the importance of giving back and this donation is very relatable as they are giving to other kids in their own community.”
