The Fenton History Center is partnering with Jamestown Community College’s Center for Continuing Education to present a short series of lectures about early Chautauqua County history. Fenton History Center special programming coordinator Frances Fair will introduce a series of three topics starting April 23 through May 7. Presenters over the three weeks will speak about the War of 1812 in Chautauqua County, transportation, commerce and early settlement in the County. A recently discovered 1814 map will be viewed during the second week. The final week will cover the life of early settler Nathan Brown, a Frewsburg girl’s adventure and other settler’s stories.

The classes are on Wednesday evenings from 6-8 p.m. at the JCC campus. The cost is $59 and one can register by calling 716-338-1005.
