Auditions will be held December 5 and 6 for Jamestown Community College’s production of She Kills Monsters. The auditions, which begin at 7 p.m. in Scharmann Theatre, are open to JCC students, high school students, and community members.
Those who are auditioning will read scenes from the play. Both speaking
and non–speaking roles are available.
The dramatic comedy, directed by Adam Owens, will be presented March 15–17 and 22–24.
She Kills Monsters explores the world of fantasy role-playing games.
As she leaves her childhood home in Ohio following the death of her teenage sister, Tilly Agnes Evans finds Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook. She stumbles into a journey of discovery and adventure in the imaginary world that was Tilly’s refuge.
The play was written by Qui Nguyen, co-founder of the OBIE Award-winning Vampire Cowboys Theatre Company. She Kills Monsters won the distinguished play award in 2014 from the American Alliance for Theatre and Education.
Owens is a local actor, comedian, director, and a theater and film instructor at Infinity Visual and Performing Arts, Inc. He is a JCC graduate and earned a bachelor’s degree in acting at SUNY Fredonia.
