SUNY Jamestown Community College is sponsoring “JCC Night at the Ballpark” with the Jamestown Tarp Skunks at Russell E. Diethrick, Jr. Park on Thursday, June 16.
The evening will highlight a collaboration between the college and the Tarp Skunks, a member of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League — JCC is hosting the Tarp Skunks players in its residence halls for the summer and the Tarp Skunks organization contributed over 250 game tickets that were sent to prospective JCC students for the 7 p.m. matchup against the Batavia Muckdogs.
“We look forward to hosting prospective JCC students from all over the area and showcase some of the best entertainment the county has to offer,” said Jacob Kindberg, Tarp Skunks director of business operations. “We are also very happy to be able to continue our relationship with JCC and house our players in the dorms. Being so close to the stadium, it is the ideal location to house our players. We couldn’t ask for a better situation and are grateful for JCC’s hospitality.”
College admissions staff also will have a table on the ballpark concourse to hand out information on JCC’s programs during the game and there will be opportunities to win JCC merchandise.
Daniel DeMarte, JCC president, will also throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
“I look forward to seeing the Jayhawk family at the stadium, and the opportunity to throw out the first pitch — I just hope it’s a strike,” said DeMarte.
Tickets for the event can be purchased by calling (716) 705-5600.
