JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown Savings Bank Arena is excited to be hosting the city’s first ever Rocktoberfest on Saturday October 13, 2012. The event will feature local and regional music brought together by Blue Moon Entertainment.

Rocktoberfest will be headlined by Big Leg Emma, a group whose members hail from all over Chautauqua County. Big Leg Emma’s groovy mix of folk and rock have made the group a staple of the Great Blue Heron Festival. Fans of the group should make sure to see their performance at Rocktoberfest, as the event will mark the band’s last performance of the year as a full group.

Also on the line-up will be Jamestown’s own Smackdab, whose mix of experimental, jazz and soul also earns them a spot on stage at the Great Blue Heron Festival in the summer. Smokehouse (country, rock, funk), Gina V (rock, country, blues) and Pressure Sensitive (classic rock) will also hit the stage during Rocktoberfest, a festival-like event taking place inside the Jamestown Arena on the main floor.

“We are excited to have such a unique event coming to the Arena,” said JSBA Event Coordinator, Matt Hanson. “It will be different then our standard concert with a different setup and will be a true showcase of some great local musical talent.”

Hanson went on to explain that there will be two stages, one at either end of the Arena floor, allowing for bands to play back-to-back throughout the night. The middle of the Arena floor will be open and offer room for people to enjoy the music, food and beverages.

Sully’s Irish Pub will be open inside the Arena with a full menu and assortment of beverages available for purchase. Bowl seating will also be open for anyone who wishes to sit down. All ages are welcome to attend Rocktoberfest and tickets are $20, available at the Arena Box Office, jamestownarena.com or by calling 716-484-2624.

The show will start at 4pm and run until approximately 11:30pm with a finale of Big Leg Emma and Smackdab playing songs back-to-back at opposite ends of the Arena!
