Jamestown Advanced Products recently made an equipment donation to its longtime customers Bill and Anita Perry, owners of Chautauqua Lake KOA in Dewittville, N.Y.
To express its gratitude for years of business, Jamestown Advanced Products donated a perforated contour bench, customized with the Chautauqua Lake KOA logo, to the Perrys. Bill and Anita Perry’s campground has more than 250 sites, each of which is stocked with products manufactured by Jamestown Advanced Products.
“We have been customers of Jamestown Advanced Products for 20-some years,” Anita Perry said. “Everything in each of our sites is made by Jamestown Advanced Products. The donation to our campground was very generous. It makes Jamestown Advanced Products stand out even more. Working with them has been phenomenal.”
Anita Perry went on to say she and her husband have recommended Jamestown Advanced Products to other KOAs throughout the United States. Additionally, she likened the company to a family.
“Wendi and Lee (Lodestro) started the company as a kind of ‘Ma and Pa’ organization,” Anita Perry said. “Over the years, Jamestown Advanced Products has grown tremendously, but they haven’t forgotten that ‘Ma and Pa’ feeling. It’s the same great customer service. That hasn’t changed. I haven’t had a problem, ever.”
According to Shari Eckman, sales manager at Jamestown Advanced Products, the donation was a way to thank the Perrys.
“Bill and Anita have been longtime customers of ours,” Eckman said. “We wanted to express our gratitude and customer appreciation by thanking them for their years of loyalty with the customized bench.”
The donated bench will be placed at the Chautauqua Lake KOA, although Anita Perry said its exact location has yet to be determined.
“We know it will be right up front,” Anita Perry said. “We want everyone who comes to our campground to be able to enjoy and appreciate the bench.”
Jamestown Advanced Products laid down its roots in Jamestown, NY in 1987, as a fabrication shop, started by Jon Wehrenberg. Two years later, Wehrenberg’s daughter, Wendi Lodestro, joined her father at Jamestown Advanced Products. In 1991, Wendi’s husband, Lee Lodestro, signed on in an engineering capacity.
Things began to change for Jamestown Advanced Products in 1994, when Wehrenberg and his wife began touring the country, camping along the way. Throughout their travels, Wehrenberg began to take notice of a variety of campground equipment that could be made at his Jamestown factory. That same year, Jamestown Advanced Products began producing a grill and a campfire ring. In 1995, it officially began manufacturing a line of campground and park products. Since then, the number of products has grown to include picnic tables, power outlets, benches, bike racks, trash receptacles and dog park products.
Another major change for the company came in 1999, when Wendi and Lee Lodestro bought Jamestown Advanced Products when Wendi Lodestro’s father retired. In the years since Wendi Lodestro purchased the business, sales and employment have doubled.
