Lutheran-Lunchtime-4x6Shopping for meals, keeping up with laundry, maintaining a home and shoveling snow – these everyday chores can be overwhelming as people age. For the residents of Hultquist Place, they have forgone all the stress of chores for days filled with friendship, activities or enjoying a quiet afternoon in their personal room.

Hultquist Place Assisted Living Program on the Lutheran Campus is hosting an Open House on Tuesday, January 20 from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. Visitors may enter the Lutheran Campus via Aldren Avenue off of Falconer Street in Jamestown. The residents bring personal items from home to make their rooms cozy and familiar. “I do long for my old home,” said Henrietta Borowski. “But I feel safe here and I know it’s the best place for me. I’m enjoying making new friends.”

101 and lots of fun – is how they refer to Charlotte Burnap, who recently celebrated her birthday. “It’s lovely here,” she said. “The staff keeps the place spotless and everyone is kind and friendly. I’m glad I made the choice to come here.”

The community atmosphere includes the conveniences of an in-house beauty salon, barber shop, gift shop and chapel. There are multiple fireplaces, game rooms and comfortable areas to enjoy time with friends and family. Delicious meals are served restaurant style in a spacious dining room.
