Hospice Chautauqua County will hold its annual Light A Life Memorial Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, November 28th at 6pm.
The event will begin with a service of remembrance at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, which is located across from the HCC offices on Fairmount Avenue in Lakewood. Following the service, participants will move across the street to the HCC offices to view the lighting of the Memorial Trees. Music, candle lighting and refreshments will also be a part of the event.
Area residents are encouraged to attend the service, which is offered each year by Hospice Chautauqua County as a tribute to those who are no longer with us. This year’s event is made possible through financial support from Univera Healthcare and Ulrich Planfiling, which donated new reflective stars for the Memorial Trees.
In addition to the Memorial Trees, beautiful Light Towers will again be displayed in the Hospice gardens. These illuminated towers will contain the names of all those who are remembered in the Light A Life program. The Memorial Trees and Towers will remain lit throughout the holiday season.
The community is also encouraged to participate in this special time of remembrance and to support Hospice’s mission to care for our community members by remembering their loved ones in the Light A Life Memorial. A star may be reserved and hung on the Hospice Memorial trees for $10. Decorative porcelain keepsake ornaments may also be purchased for $25 and $50. In addition to the decorative ornament, a star will also be hung on the trees in memory of a loved one.
