On the edge of Jamestown, near the Audobon Society and the Pennsylvania border, is the family-owned and operated campground Hidden Valley. The drive to this destination is a peaceful one that’s marked with open countryside, rolling hills and farmland. The camp attracts people from all over. It’s near everything from the Kinzua Dam, to the National Comedy Center, to the Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz Center.

“We do get people from all over the country and even from outside of the USA. Camping is a popular activity worldwide, and we’ve even had campers from Europe that fly to the USA to rent and RV and travel around the country. A lot of folks camp at Hidden Valley because we are close to everything, but still far enough away to get a break from everyday life.” Says Jessica Spak, who owns the campground with her husband, Mickey.

Hidden Valley Camping Area is located at 299 Kiantone Road, Jamestown NY. They have both seasonal and overnight campsites available, and Park Model RV’s. The overnight sites are in a dedicated overnight area and the rest are seasonal.

Aside from regularly planned activities, summer fun at the camp includes hay rides, monthly parties with a live band, and themed-weekends like Christmas in July, a Glow in the Dark weekend, and Halloween in August, complete with costumes and trick or treating.

The camp is known for being family and pet-friendly. They have a large pool, jumping pad, and playground and plenty of other recreational activities to keep both kids and adults entertained. Two picturesque creeks run through the property, one with a footbridge that connects one section of the campground to the other.

An enjoyable part of the campground business for the owners is seeing people take a break from their busy lives. “We love our campers. Whether they have been camping with us for a long time, or are new to our campground, it’s so much fun to get to know everyone and see them relax and have a good time at Hidden Valley” says Jessica.

Hidden Valley Camp’s season runs from mid-April through mid-October. For bookings call 716-569-5433 or visit www.hiddenvalleycampingarea.com
