Heritage Ministries will present Heritage Living Chautauqua Mall Grand Opening at the new Heritage Living location next to JC Penney on Friday, January 24, at 3 p.m. Guests will include New York State Senator Catherine Young, New York State Assemblyman Andrew Goodell, Congressman Tom Reed, as well as other local and county officials.

Heritage Living at the mall is a new concept in reaching Chautauqua County seniors and their families. Heritage Living at the mall offers easy access to answers of many of the questions seniors and their families have about life’s changing needs.

“We opened Heritage Living at the mall, because we wanted an easily accessible location for people to talk about difficult issues concerning themselves or their parents,” said Heritage Executive Director, David Smeltzer. Smeltzer added, “The purpose of Heritage Living at the mall is to provide a warm and friendly environment where people can find out more information about the many services that are available for seniors in our community.”

Area seniors can participate in free informational seminars every week at the new mall location. Currently being offered, in conjunction with the Chautauqua County Office of the Aging, is a seminar series titled, “Balance On,” which focuses on balance control and fall prevention. Also, seniors can participate in a series offered with the Alzheimer’s Association, which focuses on recognizing the warning signs of Alzheimer’s. Looking ahead, Heritage Living will offer a seminar series, “Ask the Expert,” in which Heritage Ministry employees and field experts, such as pharmacists, physical therapists, registered nurses and financial planners will be available for question-and-answer sessions.

Heritage Ministries Director of Marketing and Development, Doug Justham, stated, “We have so many exciting activities planned for Heritage Living at the mall, we almost do not know where to start. The management at Chautauqua Mall has been great to work with and, together, we are looking forward to starting a mall walkers’ club soon.”

Anyone looking for more information about the Open House or programming at Heritage Living at the mall should contact Doug Justham at (716) 487-6873. Heritage Living is open weekdays 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., and all are welcome to stop by.
