Hello Summer, an event to celebrate the end of school and say hello to summer with a day of fun activities for children, is happening on June 24, 2022, from 12-4 pm at the Northwest Arena. Children and their parents are welcome and encouraged to attend. The free event will feature fun activities for children including Pirates Arr for You, Marty’s Bubblegum Machine, and the Nickel City Reptiles and Exotics show along with a few other surprises.

In addition to all the fun activities, several agencies, organizations, and educational providers will be there to share information about the programming they offer to help keep kids engaged during the summer months. A sampling of the agencies that will be there include Jamestown Area Midget Football League, James Prendergast Library, Chautauqua County Child Advocacy Program, The Resource Center, YWCA Jamestown, Chautauqua County Department of Health, YMCA Camp Onyahsa, National Comedy Center, Audubon Community Nature Center, Girl Scouts of WNY, Jamestown Community Learning Council, and several others.

Parents and children are invited to join us that evening at 7 pm at Diethrick Park in Jamestown, NY to watch the Jamestown Tarp Skunks when they host Batavia. At the conclusion of the game will be the first of four fireworks shows coming to Jamestown this year. Tickets can be purchased through the Tarp Skunks.

Patrick Smeraldo, owner of Collaborative Children’s Solutions states, “This event comes from the success I’ve had serving as the Director of the Chautauqua Connections Children’s Coalition that The Resource Center and Chautauqua Connections Inc. allow me to do. It’s taken from the simple concept of collaborating and putting multiple tools of assistance together to not help just one area or in this case one child rather Hello Summer will gather human service providers, sports leagues, summer camps and multiple organizations that have services to offer children that they so desperately need.”

In addition to the Hello Summer Event, Collaborative Children’s Solutions and the City of Jamestown are co-sponsoring several events throughout 2022 including:

  • Christmas in July on July 22nd and 23rd,
  • Labor Day Weekend of Celebrations on September 3rd and 4th, and
  • Holiday Weekend in Jamestown on December 2nd and 3rd.

Stay tuned for more details on these events in the coming weeks and months.
