BUFFALO, NY (July 25, 2013) – The annual Chautauqua Walk to End Alzheimer’s which supports the free services, classes and outreach of the local Alzheimer’s Association Chapter, is set to take place this fall.
Across Western New York, more than 160,000 people are dealing with the devastation of Alzheimer’s. It’s estimated that 53,000 local people have the always fatal disease, and it’s believed that another 107,000 people provide some kind of care for those with the disease. The Alzheimer’s Association, WNY Chapter, provides classes, outreach, respite and support across eight counties, including Chautauqua. Additionally, a phone support system staffed by trained professionals is available 24/7.
This year’s Chautauqua County Walk will take place on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the Chautauqua Institution. Walk registration is quick and easy, and on line 24/7 at www.alz.org/wny. Information is also available by calling: 1.800.272.3900.
