Grand Opening Celebration Held for Credit Union

Jamestown Area Community Federal Credit Union celebrated the grand opening of their new Lakewood location with an open house on Sept. 20. The new office is located at 121 Chautauqua Ave., in the heart of Lakewood.

Jamestown Area Community FCU has a long history of providing low-cost financial services in the greater Jamestown area. Founded in 1940 as Jamestown Teachers FCU, the credit union was granted a community charter in 2003 by the National Credit Union Administration, which extended its field of membership to anyone who lives, works, worships, or goes to school in southern Chautauqua County and western Cattaraugus County. In 2004, JACFCU opened a branch on Fairmount Ave. in Lakewood and has since expanded to six locations. In addition to Lakewood and Jamestown, offices are located in Randolph, Frewsburg, and Panama.

After renting space in Lakewood for ten years, the board and management of Jamestown Area Community FCU were pleased to have the opportunity to purchase the former Busti town office building. They see the move to Chautauqua Avenue as a positive step both for the credit union and for the Lakewood community. The new building offers a drive-up teller window as well as a 24-hour drive-up ATM. The phone number is (716)763-3642.
