Celebrating completion of a three-dimensional model of Jamestown’s downtown core are Greg Edwards, chief executive officer of the Gebbie Foundation, at left, and Daniel “Deke” Kathman, second from left, president of its Board of Directors, with Prendergast Library representatives, left to right, Jason Cline, library associate; Robert Hewitt, learning lab technician; Tina Scott, director; and Annie Greene, public services manager. Cline and Hewitt used a 3D printer to create models of buildings in a 1.75 square mile area between Harrison/Steele and Fifth streets and from Jefferson Street to Foote Avenue. Color-coded models are mounted on a redwood oak base overlaid with a vinyl map that was designed, printed and applied by 360 Graphics. The cityscape will be used in long-range planning of foundation investments that will invigorate further downtown development.
