Don Bloomquist is a hard-working native to the Jamestown community, blessed with the knowledge of knowing what he wanted to do with his life at an early age. He had started his landscaping business in 1980, and it has been blossoming ever since.

Don is easy-going, but very professional, jolly and easily approachable. Don started out in his parents’ garage, rising to where he is now. He sat back comfortably in his chair and a twinkle in his eye. “I was so fascinated by designing and landscaping, that I got my degree in it as soon as I reached college.” He went to Cornell University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Floriculture and Ornamental Horticulture. And he has seen success for thirty-nine long years.

Don loves his work, he loves clients, and he loves his employees. “The people who work for me have worked for me for a long time,” he said. One employee, Scott Cole, has worked with Don for over twenty-five years. He has seen many clients from Warren, PA, and surrounding communities, offering services for residential and commercial use, and every single one of them were satisfied. The building where the business is situated includes a design center so clients can see the quality of work they will be purchasing. They also include pre-cut units to satisfy the do-it-yourselfer.

“I love seeing the different people who come in here,” Don said. “Every project is unique, so you’re always having fun when you’re doing a job. You’re never bored working this kind of job.” Bloomquist does everything, from lawns, to garden wells, to patios and pavers, and even retaining walls, to simple fire pits. Bloomquist’s Landscaping Inc. has received many
awards for the wonderful work that has been done.

“I’ve had a great thirty-nine years, and I look forward to many more.” Bloomquist’s Landscaping is located at 1391 Busti-Stillwater Road in Kiantone and is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The company can also be reached via their website:, or by their Facebook page.
