FREWSBURG – Ten members of the Southside Midget Football team traded their spike shoes and calisthenics for paint, brushes, creativity and PIZZA when they matched up with residents of the Frewsburg Rest Home for an evening of pumpkin painting. The youth were paired with residents who provided technical advice and encouragement resulting in some very festive pumpkins.
Steve Sischo, Frewsburg Rest Home owner and team coach said “This is a fun evening event connecting kids and seniors. It’s great to see them engaged and working together, sharing ideas and creating together. We’re also creating great memories for both the kids and our residents.”
Jackie Shannon, Activities Director said for the youth this is an experience in serving others and gaining a positive connection with people older, wiser and with remarkable life experience to share. For our residents, it is sheer delight in watching the focus, creativity, and fun the kids’ exhibit while bringing back wonderful memories of days gone by.”
