A Fresh Start is designed to promote awareness and encouragement based on personal experiences. A Fresh Start is a non-profit, based in Jamestown, New York, offering help to people and families struggling with addiction. With three Oxford Houses, recovery house for men, and a recovery house for women, operating in the City of Jamestown, A Fresh Start has been able to help men and women in recovery. Currently, A Fresh Start is working a program for children living in homes where a family member or members is struggling with addiction, giving them tools to cope and giving them hope for their future.
A Fresh Start has a weekend full of activities coming in April.
Starting on Friday, April 15, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., a Spaghetti Dinner at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 410 North Main Street, Jamestown, New York {RSVP to afreshstart44keeps@gmail.com or 716.450.5070}.
At 7:00 p.m. at St. Luke’s, author, Dr. David Sutton will be giving an inspirational message of hope and healing. Dr. Sutton’s book, The Principle Approach, represents “a culmination of life of sobriety now extended over 30 years. It is a compilation of wisdom and information from meetings I have attended, books I have read, people I have helped. . .”
On Saturday, April 14, A Fresh Start is hosting a Live Auction and Basket Raffle event, Rocking For Recovery, at The Resource Center Conference Center, 200 Dunham Avenue, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the Live Auction starting at 3:00 p.m., with local artists painting rocking chairs to be auctioned.
