Five Star Bank announced the winners of their annual calendar art contest for students in first through third grade today. Skylar Phiobrick, 8, a second grade student at Samuel G. Love Elementary School, Jamestown, won for his colorful drawing, which will be featured in the month of August of the bank’s 2015 calendar.
“We were pleased by the volume and detail of the entries we received,” said Sherri Kaleta, assistant vice president, advertising and communications manager for Five Star Bank. “Five Star Bank is happy to reward the winning students’ hard work with a $500 prize for supplies for Samuel G. Love Elementary School for the 2014 – 15 school year.”
Skylar Phiobrick’s winning artwork and reward was revealed at a surprise meeting officiated by his teacher, Amy Swanson, and Love Elementary Principal, Renee Hartling. Five Star Bank distributes an estimated 20,000 copies of its calendar to its customers each year.
