The Fenton History Center’s Genealogy Support Group is hosting the 1st Chautauqua Region Genealogical Conference on Saturday, April 6, 2019. Have you every wanted to find out more about your family tree? Are there family stories and mysteries that intrigue you, but you aren’t sure where to start your research? Have you hit a “brick wall?” Maybe you have a veteran in your family you want to learn more about? The Fenton’s genealogical conference is a great opportunity for researchers of all abilities to attend classes that meet their needs and interest.
The generous sponsorship of Chautauqua Regional Community Foundation, Jamestown Rubber Stamp Company and Rodgers Land Surveying make it possible for us to offer 16 different classes during this all-day event. The classes offered are: Beginning Family Research, Ancestry, Chautauqua County Records, DAR Research, Dating and Preserving Photos and Documents, Military Research and Vets Finding Vets, DNA 101, DNA 201, Swedish Research, Irish Research, Scottish Research, Resources at the Hall House, Breaking Old World: Finding Foreign Places of Birth in American Record, Old Fulton (use, approaches, comparisons, tricks, & frustrations), German Research for Beginners, and German Research Intermediate Level.
Register for the conference today at crgconference.com. The conference takes place at the Fluvanna Community Church at 3363 Fluvanna Avenue from 9:00AM to 4:00PM, doors open at 8:00AM. Cost is $50.00 for the full day and includes lunch served by the Fluvanna Historical Society. For those wishing to attend a half day, cost is $30.00 for either the morning or the afternoon session. Lunch is not included in the half-day session.
Many of the local historical societies, libraries and Genealogy Groups will have displays set up.
