An entrepreneur with a caring and compassionate spirit, Dr. Terry Schultz built his optometry practice on providing the best in patient care.
During his career at Spectrum Eyecare, Dr. Schultz encouraged the staff to continue their education and enhance their skills through training programs. He was singularly responsible for the recent renovations to the office and truly wanted patients to enjoy their experience.
His passing in June has led his family to create a scholarship in his memory to inspire students who will, hopefully, continue Dr. Schultz’s positive influence on the community. The Dr. Terry R. Schultz Scholarship Fund will assist second year Jamestown Community College students who want to further their education at medical or optometry school.
According to Dr. Schultz’s wife, Brenda, the support from the community for this scholarship has been incredible. “Thank you,” she said, “our family is grateful for Spectrum Eyecare, family members, friends and patients whose thoughtful contributions have made this scholarship possible and will help keep Terry’s memory alive.”
Dr. Schultz was a graduate of Jamestown Community College and went on to receive his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees from The Ohio State University. Upon returning to the Jamestown area, he began his optometry practice in the Hotel Jamestown Building before co-founding Spectrum Eyecare. In 1991, the Jamestown Community College Alumni Association honored him with the Distinguished Alumni Award for his good work.
