The Dale Drive Shoulder Expansion Project in Cassadaga will begin on June 24, 2019. The project involves adding a five-foot asphalt paved shoulder to the existing roadway. During construction, the Chautauqua County Department of Public Facilities (DPF) does not expect this road to be closed to thru traffic. However, temporary lane closures during construction working hours are expected to occur into August. The work zone traffic controls will involve temporary lane closures to one side of the road at a time during working hours. The roadway is expected to be opened to two way traffic during non-working hours.
“Once completed, Dale Drive will be able to safely accommodate pedestrian and bicycle utilization,” said Brad Bentley, Chautauqua County Director of Public Facilities. “Chautauqua County would like to recognize the Chautauqua County Health Network for their financial support to this project that helps further the Creating Healthy Schools and Communities goals via activities which support pedestrian and bicycle use.”
The Chautauqua County Department of Public Facilities understands that construction activities to install this shoulder expansion project has impacts to the Cassadaga community and has been working with the Mayor of Cassadaga and residents to minimize those impacts.
