CWC to Hold Snowshoe Hike & Cross-Country Ski at Cassadaga Creek Preserve

The Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy will be holding a guided, leisurely snowshoe hike & cross-county ski (weather dependent) through its scenic and forested Cassadaga Creek Wetland Preserve on Saturday, January 22nd from 2:00-3:30 p.m.

Jamestown Gazette readers are cordially invited by the CWC to join them for this enjoyable and enlightening wintertime outdoor excursion.

The event is free for all CWC members. A $5 suggested donation for individual non-members, or $10 per family, will be appreciated as a contribution to the vital work of conserving and protecting one of the region’s most valuable natural resources.

The preserve is located on Bloomer Road, just off County Route 380 between Harvey Road and the South Stockton-Cassadaga Road (County Route 71). For guests familiar with the popular sports of geocaching or wilderness hiking, GPS coordinates for the preserve are 42°14’37.2″N and 79°18’31.0″W. Participants should also note that the preserve is not accessible from the Sinclair Road/Route 60 side.

For personal safety and that of others enjoying this winter outing, attendees are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing. RSVPs are required.
