The City of Jamestown has unveiled a new way for taxpayers to pay property taxes in 2021. Property owners may now go online to pay taxes in addition to paying in person at the Municipal Building or mailing in tax payments. The City has an agreement with MuniciPAY which allows for the third-party processing of credit card and eCheck payments. The service comes at no cost to the City.
Mayor Eddie Sundquist said, “We wanted to give a contactless way during the pandemic for property owners to pay their tax bill. Also, many people prefer the convenience of being able to pay online and we wanted to expand City services to reach that population.”
Sundquist added, “I’m proud of our Comptroller, Treasurer, Assessor, and IT staff for working together to prepare this new service in time for the 2021 property tax billing.”
City Clerk/Treasurer Jennifer Williams said, “We are always looking for ways to improve service for customers and this online tax bill pay is hopefully the first of many steps forward in that goal.”
The online payment option has a flat $1.50 fee for eCheck payments, or if you’re using a credit card a 2.65% convenience fee.
Property owners may pay online by visiting www.jamestownny.gov/pay/ and clicking the “Make a Payment Online” button at the top of the page.
Payments can be made in person at the City Municipal Building, located at 200 East Third Street, Jamestown, New York, 14701. Office hours are from 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Payments can be mailed by making checks payable to “City Treasurer” and mailed to:
