Christmas in Clymer

When Santa Claus comes to Clymer this Saturday, December 8, he will make sure that every child who visits him will  get a chance to tell him their Christmas wishes. In addition, thanks to the Clymer Business Association, each child will be given a ticket with a number on it. When that number is called, they may pick up a Christmas gift and then visit Santa.

The jolly old guy will arrive at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Clymer Central School student performance center. But long before then, starting at 8 a.m., participating stores will offer holiday specials. Some of them will be giving away prizes.

From 1 to 5 p.m., visitors will be able to tour some of Clymer’s beautiful homes, which are already decorated for Christmas. Cost of the tour is $8 before Saturday and $10 on that day. Tickets are available at the Clymer French Creek Free Library. The money will help 5 & 2 Ministry to feed children in need.

From 5 to 6 p.m., the Clymer Choir will perform at the CCS performance center.

Santa arrives at 6:30 and at 7:30 (or as soon as all the children have visited Santa), tickets will be drawn for a gift-giveaway for adults.

Throughout the evening, from 6 to 10 p.m., spend some time enjoing the Light Up Clymer Contest entries. Beautiful displays will be on view all over the area. Maps of the display locations and voting ballots will be available at participating businesses. The contest entries will be on display from December 1 through 31.

Mark your calendars for December 8 and come join the holiday fun in Clymer, sunshine or snow!
